Palloys offers a complete refining service for scrap, lemel and other metal residue.

Scrap and Lemel

Refining times are generally ten days from receipt of parcel. Charges will vary depending on assay requirements in parcels and weight after melting. Please separate silver, gold, white gold and platinum scrap.

Other Metal Residue

Refining times are generally ten to twenty days. Assay charges are the same as for scrap and lemel except that refining charges are based on weight received.

Despatch

Refinings sent to Palloys must be accompanied by a written advice stating:

• Client name and address
• Description of materials
• Gross and/or net weights of individual lots
• Indication of whether lots are to be treated together or separately
• Assay instructions, for example, assay for silver/gold/platinum group metals, with an indication of whether mixed metals are involved
• Out-turn settlement instructions

Out-Turn Settlement

Refining outturns may be settled as follows:

• Payment by cheque or EFT
• Credit to trading account
• Credit to existing metal account
• Return of fine metals in granule or other form

Insurance

Palloys does not accept any liability for refining dispatched prior to physical receipt by Palloys of material and the issue by Palloys of a formal refining receipt.
